Thank you for choosing Justin's Laptop Stop (JLS)! Every unit is backed by a comprehensive local personal warranty covering parts and services for one (1) year from the purchase date.
01 Returns & Refunds
Within the first seven (7) days from delivery, you may return the laptop for a full refund if the unit is proven defective by the JLS Team or partner repair centers. After this period, the laptop may only be subject to warranty.
Acceptable cases for a return or refund:
- Dead pixels — pixels permanently off, resulting in a defective display.
- Overheating — frequent shutdowns from a defective cooling system or internal components.
- Graphics card issues — display artifacts, flickering, or performance problems in games / graphic-intensive apps.
- Audio issues — speakers or microphone producing distorted or low-quality sound, or not functioning.
- Battery issues — battery draining quickly or not holding a charge.
Light bleed (uneven backlight at the screen edges/corners — common in gaming laptops) is not considered a dead pixel and is not covered.
A laptop that "runs hot" but does not shut down or artifact does not merit a return or refund — we can share cooling-management tips.
Any damage from user error or mishandling is not covered. Evidence of tampering, misuse, or accidental damage voids the warranty.
02 Warranty Period
The warranty period is one (1) year from the purchase date — the date you settled full payment of your order is the starting reference.
To verify legitimate JLS customers, we recognize any of:
- Acknowledgment Receipts issued by JLS
- Online conversation threads with recognized JLS staff via the official Facebook page
- Proof of payment transfers
Please keep a copy of your purchase records as proof of purchase — it verifies warranty status and expedites any repair or replacement. If you don't have one yet, just request it from our team.
03 Warranty Coverage
The 1-year local personal warranty covers issues caused by manufacturing defects, including the cost of parts, labor, and shipping.
Issues covered include:
- Defective hard drives or SSDs
- Malfunctioning keyboards or trackpads
- Failed or malfunctioning RAM
- Non-functional ports such as USB or HDMI
- Display issues such as dead pixels, backlight bleeding, or flickering
- Overheating from a malfunctioning cooling system or internal components
Parts that degrade naturally are fixed or replaced free of charge:
- Batteries that degrade over time and no longer hold a charge
- Fans that wear out and no longer function properly
- Cables that fray over time and cause connectivity issues
The warranty does not cover issues from user error, mishandling, accidental damage, or external factors beyond JLS's control. If an issue isn't covered, the customer is responsible for repair or replacement costs.
04 Warranty Limitations
- Light Bleed
- Uneven backlight bleeding at the edges/corners of the screen — common in gaming laptops. Not considered a dead pixel; not covered.
- Tampering
- Any signs of tampering void the warranty — including removing or altering components, stickers, or seals.
- User Damage
- Not covered: damage from user error or mishandling, including dropping, liquid spills, or exposure to extreme temperatures.
- External Factors
- Not covered: damage from power surges, natural disasters, or accidents during shipping.
- Shipping Damage
- If the laptop arrives visibly damaged from shipping, contact the carrier directly to file a claim. Photograph the damage and keep all original packaging for inspection. JLS is not responsible for courier mishandling — contact the carrier as soon as possible.
- Upgrades
- If you upgrade the laptop yourself, take photos before and after opening it / switching parts. Upgrading without JLS's knowledge voids the warranty, and JLS is not liable for damage caused by self-upgraded components.
05 Partner Repair Centers
For checking or repair of a warranty-covered JLS laptop, bring it to a partner repair center below and tell them it's a "JLS unit." JLS covers the costs if it's within the warranty period and terms.
Team Spike Computer Repair Center
Quezon City
Estimated repair lead times:
- Diagnosis / cleaning / testing: 3–5 business days
- Part replacement: 2–3 weeks order lead time
- Standard repair: + 3–5 business days
- Complex repair: 1–2 months or longer (e.g. full motherboard replacement)
Back up your data before sending a laptop for repair — JLS and partner centers are not responsible for data loss during the repair process. Repair centers may charge fees for work not covered by the warranty (e.g. accidental damage or misuse).
06 Transfer of Warranty
If the laptop is sold or given to another party, the warranty is transferable and still based on the original purchase date from JLS.
The original owner must notify JLS within 14 days of the sale/transfer with the new owner's name and contact details. The new owner must then provide either:
- Acknowledgment Receipts issued by JLS
- Letter of endorsement from the previous verified owner
If the new owner can't provide proof of ownership or a copy of the original receipt, the warranty is considered void.
Repairs or services under warranty are provided only to the original purchaser or the warranty transferee — not to any subsequent owner. The same limitations and exclusions apply.
07 Manufacturer's Warranty
JLS laptops are considered "grey units" by local customs, so the manufacturer's warranty is not applicable nor reinstated. Instead, JLS provides the 1-year local personal warranty for manufacturing defects as outlined above.
These terms are subject to change without prior notice and apply only to verified JLS customer units serviced through our partner repair shops around Metro Manila. By purchasing from JLS, you acknowledge and agree to these warranty terms. Questions? Message us on our official Facebook page.
